Singapore, 12 Mar 2020 February saw increases in rent and volume for both HDB and non-landed privates homes, according to flash estimates from real estate portal SRX Property.
Year on year, rents were up for non-landed private homes in all regions, as well as all HDB flat types. This was attributed to an increase in demand.
The tight supply of private housing also allowed some landlords to raise or maintain their asking rents in February, said Christine Sun, OrangeTee & Tie's head of research & consultancy.
"Some tenants had also chosen to stay put in their existing units and renewed their tenancy contracts, as they may be concerned about the virus spread and were reluctant to scout for another place," she added.
