Continuing Professional Development - CPDCore and Non-Core CPD ActivitiesGuidelines to CPD Activity for Estate AgentsOn 1st April 2011, CEA implemented the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Scheme. This scheme aims to upgrade the professionalism, integrity and competencies of estate agents and salespersons in the real estate industry. CPD Cycle for Year 2013 In view that the 2013 CPD cycle is over a 9 months instead of 12 months period, all KEOs, practising directors/ partners and salespersons are required to fulfil by 30 September 2013 only 4 CPD credit hours (of which at least 2 CPD credit hours must be on core subjects). Please take note that the KEOs, practising directors/partners and salespersons must complete the CPD requirement by 30 September 2013, before they can submit applications through CEA’s e-service to continue / renew the licence / registration for the year 2014. CPD Cycle for Subsequent Years The subsequent CPD cycles will resume the requirement of minimum 6 CPD Credit hours for duration of 12 months from 1 Oct of the year to 30 Sep of the following year (e.g. 1 Oct 2013 to 30 Sep 2014). All KEOs, practising directors/ partners and salespersons shall be required to fulfil 6 CPD credit hours (of which at least 3 CPD credit hours must be on core subjects) by 30 September each year before they can submit the application to continue / renew the licence / registration. The information and requirements of the subsequent CPD cycles will be based on prevailing polices at the relevant time.
